Oh how gruesome, that poor … uh, vegetable or fruit depending on who you ask.  It’s the chapter cover for chapter 47, how exciting!  Who will be the main tag along in this adventure?  That seems to be the theme in these opening chapter intros.  Oh yes, we’re still just introducing stuff before we get into the thick meaty stories.  As I mentioned it’s going to take a significant amount of years to get this second overall story finished, much more than the first one.  I’m trying a few new things in this chapter to hopefully speed things up but we’ll see how that goes.

This week ISN’T actually going to be speedy now that I think about it.  I’ve got something big coming up this weekend so I won’t have much time to work on comics.  I briefly considered putting this next chapter off another week to build up more pages.  But then I thought, a little bit of Kyra each week is better than waiting long!  So we’ll see how quickly this new story starts.

The art tablet is working well enough for now.  It get stuck booting up for ten to thirty minutes which is a huge pain.  I considered getting a newer simpler tablet, but I guess my insanely expensive one is still technically working.  Will have to see how that develops too.

And finally while I’m here, I drew some pictures during the comic break.  I do wish I had more times for these but such is how it goes.  The first is an Easter one and the other is a funny ending to a smash bros match I had with friends.  More things to see how they go, haha.  Including next week with whatever I can get done.

George: I love these Hampton tomatoes! You know, you can eat ’em like apples! You know it’s funny, the tomato never took off as a hand fruit.

Jerry: Well, the tomato’s an anomaly, ya know. So successful with the ketchup and the sauce, but you can’t find a good one.

If you’re not familiar with Smash Bros then it comes off like Ridley is just being super possessive of that tree.

“Don’t touch my tree! It’s my tree! MIIIIIIIIINE!!”

“What? No , it doesn’t look like blood at all when you eat those. Let me take some Pics to prove it.”
^ Villanous charakter trying to portray Kyra as an evil monster.

If this cover is any indicator, we will learn about Kyras diet and how this offends people somehow. This is going to be juicy.

Kyra does not seem amused about easter.
That Ridley drawing is adorable. I always knew the villager was the greater evil of these two. Poor Ridley. never had a chance.

Huh might this be an interesting redux of Philosophy chapter from Book 1, this time for teen Kyra. That was a big storyline for Kyra’s development outside of her comfort zone:

I would like to see what she think of diet now that she’s much older and wiser.

I’m glad you bring that one up for … no reason just yet, heh.

It’s a shame I couldn’t recover the original site with all the comments made when the pages were originally posted. I don’t remember if it was page 329 or another one around it, but it had the record of most comments growing to over 60. Not even the last page of the first book is that close. Everybody was arguing over vegetarianism.

That wasn’t quite my goal of that particular chapter which I think about a lot. It was supposed to be about “getting along with people you disagree with” but ended up being about food things. Oh well. Hopefully this one doesn’t get side tracked and I skip to the original script

…. even if I’ve rewritten it a few times already, heh

Kyra makes eating tomatoes look like sitting in a slaughterhouse!

Just don’t think about how often she looks like this from not tomatoes.

It’s a pity that protofeathers lacked the protective oil that modern feathers do that help present day avian predators avoid these kind of messes.

I suppose if they were oily then people would have mentioned it by now. Also Kyra has, on several occasions, mocked humans on how greasy we are to her. That said her species may have evolved some other type of feather in a different direction. I recall her even mocking modern feathers at one point.

Kyra is a very proud dinosaur, heh
