Put on your red (black?) shoes and dance the blues (greens? pinks?)
This time there’s no reason for me to get upset that I only got one page done this week – it might be my most ambitious page yet. Well, at the very least it may have taken me the longest! These two are such fun characters so I had to make it right. Heck it even took twice the sketching this time, which is here if that’s something you’re interested in.
And because I knew it would be a hit and I would want to see them completely myself – here’s the four main ones which I did as full drawings just to enjoy them more. Now to rest before starting on the next pages for the update that are hopefully less intensive.

Someone needs to show Paul the fourth wall so he doesn’t need to be down missing the best shots. He can read them all on this site!
That might be too much power for a comic character to have! Gosh, if Kyra were to break it we would all be in trouble.
Very Calvin and Hobbes. I approve!
It’s so obvious but I didn’t even think of that! Welp, now I have to draw them doing the actual C&H dances someday.
Seeing as how this is a museum, it can be classified as a performance art piece!
This is barely abnormal compared to taping a banana to a wall ????
Hmm… but I guess you’re only allowed to do art if you schedule it in advance with museum types, though… ????♂️
Ah, thus the hierarchy is established.
Art is lesser than High Art
High Art is lesser than Bureaucracy
No, this is eating the banana taped to the wall, which clearly makes everyone stare in awe except the museum curators
Hopefully it’s all just “normal” paintings. It’s going to be hard enough dealing with Kyra without putting frames around light switches or nailing a paint can to the wall.
“Kyra,no! Wait!”
By itself sounds like something bad is about to happen.
In the end it becomes clear that it was more like: “Kyra, no! Wait! I have to take out my Kamera first and start filming!”
Just wholesome.
Looking through the performance. It is nice to imagine how the movement would look like. And it works quite well, except maybe the third last panel the second pose. Wobly arms and Spinning Kyra. To fast to even process with human vision.
Is this how they greet each other anywhere? How does their good byes look like? Ah, this makes me look forawrd even more to these two interacting!
I love seeing Paul exude awkward Dad Energy
Hopefully it’s not how they interact the WHOLE time and they dance for the rest of the chapter. My drawing hand hurts just thinking about that.
Reminds me a lot of Tom & Jerry’s episode “The Zoot Cat.”
Such fabulous dancing hahaha x3
I have a big old list of songs I could use for reference whenever those two are dancing, and yet none of them fit with this one XD But now I can hear the song from that episode and there we go!
My work is done
B-)
Kyra and Ann reunited – yay! Their dance is drawn so well I can actually hear jazzy swing music in my head. Amazing work, Andrew.
Maybe Paul should just have his camera focused on Kyra at all times. You never know when she’s gonna put on a film-worthy show. (The answer to that is “always”)
Maybe he tried that once but kept having to go through 168 hours of film every week.
This reminds me a lot of Calvin and Hobbes’s dance strips, but like in your style and stuff. Very cool, I love it! They’re having so much fun!
Aww, that warms my withered heart to hear XD
It’s a fun way to show they’re BFFs while giving me a lot to draw
To the tune of the The Parent Trap handshake song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7AQCTft9FGg
Definitely something they would try to do.
“Then you should draw it!”
Oh not so soon please have mercy!
Nah, this strip is beyond fine
…you should animate it like that Calvin and Hobbes test reel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fE7nv7BH19Q
I’m late on account of being away but this was a really good page to come back to! The danciness levels are off the charts
