They came to look at human drawings but looked at a dinosaur instead. That probably means something, Or it’ll increase the chance of Kyra getting caught doing a something or other naughty thing. She does like those.
Once again I am saved by the Monday update system with only one page … again. No mighty excuses this time, just wanted a little break and a weekend long Splatfest was the perfect opportunity! Of course, if I can’t get some solid work done THIS week then I need to put down that Animal Crossing and pick up the … dinosaur crossing … through the art gallery. Yeah, I nailed that one!

Paul as the reasonable voice in the back is doing a good figure. I am reminded of the grill in the pinochio Disney movie.
Meanwhile ann is doing a good job competing at who is more out of place for an art gallery. Or is it the opposite and she is doing an artistic show with Kyra(While Kyra is just being herself)? To be honest I prefer the latter and seeing this in an art gallery would be making it ten times more interesting to me.
“You don’t get it.”
Ah, the words I knew would be at some point said during this Art gazing. And I bet it won’t be the last time.
Apreciating Kyra in the last panel nailing the look of an art critique without being human. And considering the mob following her, you could think that they are highly anticipating her noble judgement. Sadly it is not the reason. But the guy who was so afraid of her and trying to defend his painting turned normal for a panel. Kyra is good at this!
On another node, all the humans watching her so closely should take Pauls advise and stare at the paintings they came for. SO rude.
Of course not, you need to see the other 5 in the sequence first!
Sounds like a Far Side comic where it shows the artist with a pile of failed paintings, each one with a different and more ridiculous fruit or vegetable in front of this face. The caption underneath pointing out that maybe Mr. Magritte should try an “apple?”
I mean, yes, I have and it’s hilarious, but “The Son of Man” is also supposed to be a response to criticism on “Not to Be Reproduced” (the one with the mirror) where a lot of people asked him “why don’t you paint him looking forwards?”
“That’s the point”
“No, I mean, really. It would still work, the mirror would still follow the same rules”
“Fine, here he is looking forwards. Happy now?”
“Gasp! An apple?! Such uncouthness! We mean looking forwards without any mystical things going on! Like a photo, you know?
*paints the man with a pigeon photobombing his face*
I think Magritte would’ve gotten along quite well with Kyra
This sounded amazing so I looked into him more and it is amazing indeed. I also didn’t know he was responsible for the famous pipe drawing too (I mean, NOT a pipe heh). I’m starting to think he would enjoy some of the things that happen in this chapter indeed.
Old guy reminds me of my college graphic arts professor. For the record, he would have been cool with Kyra enjoying the gallery.
Why are all those people in the 1st panel so scared of such a sweet and innocent looking dinosaur?
I love how Paul is always hovering in the background, he is committed to making sure Kyra doesn’t misinterpret anything.
I am not a dinosaur and yet I do not understand the radish face portrait either.
It is a reference to the famous painting “Son of Man” which is of the artist with an apple in front of his face. This being this comic it, of course, has to be a radish instead.
I should’ve guessed it was based on an actual painting. And yes, the apple had to be changed to a radish!
I’ve seen those reactions to a service dog in a museum
