Hmm, I’d say these fancy people are playing with fire … but I suppose Kyra is too. There’s an awful lot of arson in this page then. We’ll see who gets burned first. Uhm … Paul’s terror sweat will put the fires out. This metaphor is out of control. Just like a raging fire haha saved it! Not much else to add this week other than I drew a little image as this comic turned eleven years old on September 3rd. Also a larger image of Kyra doing that curtsy because I doubt she’ll feel like doing it ever again.

Hah, Kyra on the bottom middle panel is such a mood. XD
Jeez. I am an artist and already I know not to treat Kyra as if she’s a pet. They deserved that growl, though.
And cute art of baby and teenage Kyra :3 makes me wonder if we’ll see family-making/species reintroducing arc, though that would be WAAAAAY down the line in the far-off future. Would be a great idea with lot of emotional and social and ethical developments there!
Oh to make this comic faster to get to chapters where that kind of stuff gets addressed sooner XD
11 Years already. celebrations time! *Kyra dancing in the distance*
And oh dang. Kyra is trying her best to appeal and be accepted. And it is not attributed to her. In fact she is considered a pet. What a scandal. The horror. I am outraged. I would growl, too.
Also ann doing her best navi intepretation is not helping the cause, unless she is tryng to make Kyra look good.
Also small and big Kyra in one pic. You know how we sometimes wonder what we would say to our small selfs. What would Kyra have to say to her joung self? I wonder.
Kyra bowing is so adorable. She is trying so hard~. Pls let it lead to acceptance. Oh who am I kidding. I am talking about humans here. We will see I guess.
That 2nd panel – Paul and Ann both know Kyra so well. Of course she does the opposite.
Love the curtsy and polite introduction (and thanks for the larger image). But “little circus monkey”? “Fun tricks”? Oh no, no, no! I would growl too. But then Kyra clamped her mouth shut and looked adorable again.
Uh Ann? You’re not blending, we can see you.
Big congrats on Kyra’s 11th birthday! Love the image with big and little Kyra even more than the curtsy!
Oh wow, 11 years! That’s a long time to be making such amazing dino art!
There’s no way this arc ends without property damage and/or significant physical injury, but if it’s the former, I wonder if the snobs will pull a Banksy and go “oh now that it’s been shredded to ribbons it’s worth even more”
It doesn’t even feel like eleven or that it’s even been THAT long. But I suppose “Phil Likes Tacos” running for over eighteen years might account for that.
“What a well trained animal!” is a line that’s always bugged me in the context of talking creatures you can actually hold a conversation with. If they’re clearly following the meaning and nuance of what you’re saying, they’re not really an “animal” now are they? You might as well say “Oh, what a well trained human!” when you see a child going through all the motions of polite society.
…Then again, I suppose that’s not too far off the mark.
Their whole plot is to out Kyra as a mindless beast who doesn’t belong there so yeah … this rudeness isn’t surprising. It’s going to be a learning experience for everyone. Who will be left standing?
But yeah, not everyone is as familiar with Kyra like we the audience are. Like how they guy with the radish head painting knew about Kyra and even knew she could talk, but was still surprised that she could actually converse with him.
I’m so proud of Kyra :’)
