There’s going to be a lot of experimenting in this chapter with all the night scenes that are going to be coming up. I’ve been going over some fun and interesting ideas so we’ll see how it all looks as the night goes on. Or maybe they’ll all go to sleep and that’ll be the end. Doubtful!
So many things on my mind with the comic lately. No, not the usual “why do I do this when so few read it” thing that every comic maker has. Not even the whole “gosh this giant second story arc isn’t going to be done until the mid 2030s at this rate, what could I do to speed it up?” Naw, I just think I need to throw out the whole ending and plot points and rework them. I obviously won’t get into details, but let’s just say some stuff I’ve been planning over the past several years has actually been happening in real life. Oops! Luckily I realized I don’t have to worry. Even if I do make huge changes it’s not going to even effect this and the next two chapters at least.
Remember to plan far, far ahead when writing everybody! It’ll sure help you out in the long run until it doesn’t.

Good advice for writing. It can seem easy to just rely on “Eh… I’ll figure it out” and keep discovery writing, but suddenly you’re in a corner and it stinks there.
Which is funny, because I write my other comic PLT the opposite way. Kyra I plan and dream for months and years, while PLT I often start drawing a comic knowing the punchline will come to me as I get to the last panel.
I am reading this comic and really liking it! I said some negative things near the end of the first mega-arc, but you have fully won me over again. You are a true artiste.
I thought Kyra liked reading. There was an entire chapter about it.
Ah yes, way back in the library story. She was certainly excited by the idea that everything you wanted to learn was ready to be read in a book, but because frustrated after realizing she couldn’t read them very well. Then she got excited that if books were written by people after finding things out, she could find those things out herself! I’m sure Luna will bring it up in the next page, heh
This is a great page. I like their conversation, and Kyra is adorable most of the time anyways but especially here. Prickly-fuzzy dino curling up on a bed.
Thanks! That’s always good to know. Fuzz-fuzz dino always helps with that.
Love their relationship, they’re like two girls just enjoying each other’s company at a sleepover.
Kyra? Actually thinking about what she says and being careful how she words it? It’s most likely than you think!
Comics are always ultimately about the journey, not the destination. For both author and reader alike, I hope. As long as its going you have room to grow, new things to try, new experiences to create. And your audience gets to look forward to what comes *next*.
The glow of completion is fleeting. If it ever comes for Kyra I’m sure it will be a *long* afterglow, but we would still all miss her if we no longer could look forward to her continued adventures in our feeds every Monday.
Like the first story arc I plan on having forty chapters. However, the first ten chapters in the original were the shorter black and white ones I made over a few months … then when it went to color I was going three pages a week at first … also these new chapters are quite long. If I keep up this rate of five chapters every two years I guess I have thirteen more years to go? Wowie!
I do love these characters though and want to tell their stories. But I also have other comic ideas I would have loved to have made too. Also PLT will go for eternity. So many ideas, only so much time!
This is probably the closest to a normal life Kyra could have. No “uh oh it’s a dinosaur!” anywhere. Normal chatting and enjoying each others company. Also Luna got Kyra twice on one page!
Getting Kyra to be polite and thinking about what she says is quite the feat. It’s one of the things that makes writing these two characters together fun.
Kyra’s not going to like philosophy
But she’s really picking up on human expressiveness (particularly love that second-last panel inset)
