Oh good!  It’s not random monsters out to get you, but crazy humans trying to do a thing.  Oh bad!  I think that might be worse?  And now they might be beaten up by a dinosaur and a little kid?  I mean, I guess it’s not as bad as Doctor Claw from Inspector Gadget getting thwarted by a DOG and a little kid.  Groups and a dog probably seem so quaint in this world where kids can hang out with a dinosaur.  Trying to scare one like this means their either brave or stupid.  But I guess if they think they’re brave here they’re stupid anyway.  We’ll see who survives next week!

Is Kyra even able to see the projections? I thought she lacked persistence of vision.

She has the opposite problem actually. Humans need at least 12 frames per second to see movement in videos. Other animals, especially hunters, can have far sharper vision for detecting movement. Something with 60 fps will look perfectly smooth to humans while someone like Kyra would be “naw that’s still just a bunch of pictures to me” TV just looks like flipbooks to her.

Yeah, I knew this was brought up earlier in the comic with Kyra having superior and sharp vision.

Though I wonder how good her vision is? Does she need at least 90 frames per second to see movement from video? Most of what we watch/play are somewhere in 24 frames for television and film medias and 30-60 frames for video games.

That reminds me, I learned a while back that this has to do with something called temporal resolution, which doesn’t just govern vision but also the perception of time. Kyra may have experience time more… “slowly” than we do, for lack of a better word. That would explain her reflexes as well.

On the flipside, we can perceive more gradual changes than she can. For her, watching a snail move across a surface might be like watching grass grow–functionally imperceptible. It’s like how a fly can dodge you if you try to slap it, but if you creep up on it then it won’t notice.

…It would also explain her hyperactivity.
