Whats nice about a lot of plants is how fruits are meant to be eaten, and how for a lot of fruiting plants (like almost all apple breeds) they are bred by grafting, so if you eat a specific breed of apple you are eating from a clone that can trace its lineage back to the original tree. And the trees don’t die off from growing their fruit – they make the fruit for animals to eat to distribute the seeds.
Of course there are plants like onions where we eat the actual plant since its not a fruit, so theres some room for plant genocide.
