Aaauuaagh! Cover their faces again!! Cover their faces again!!!
But it’s the INSIDE that counts … hey wait a minute
Shriiiiieeek!
Hey wait, is this also the first inside-clothes shot we see of Kyra?
They do care. eye, see that now.
Yay it’s a start!
So many things I love: Kyra ducking under Ann’s shirt, then panel 8 showing her there; Ann’s so expressive face in panel 6; and then her comment about getting to “sing a few songs” in the orphanage made me laugh. Well done, Andrew!
It’s beyond about time. Sheesh.
This arc really hit close to home for me. I’ve got adopted siblings whose mother never wised up on why they were taken from her, but still fought to keep them every step of the adoption process. She acted like they were her property instead of people. I’m glad Ann’s parents aren’t that far gone. Very nice use of dramatic reveal for their faces. Makes them seem more human. (No offence, Kyra.)
Ah, still so good. The feels man.
Cripes the way you played the art with these parents is brilliant
They’ve been dehumanized for a majority of the comic, AND NOW THEY’RE HUMAN!
Very neatly done.
Oh no, that did it! As soon as I saw their eyes, I couldn’t NOT cry!
I already liked your work a lot before, for many reasons, but getting me so incredibly invested into a story and its characters until you manage to punch the tears out of my face with everything… That’s the best, for sure.
