Oh no such suspense! What will Kyra do to the new red shirts of the facility? Or are they more maroon? Ah I guess they’re safe then, at least until the next update next week!
I feel like half of the time I’ve spent on developing the second story arc was on Kyra alone. I had to make sure it was just right which took quite a while. This is one of the first drawings I did almost a year ago that made me first say “oh hey I think I’m onto something!” It’s also special because I realized how good Kyra looks in a purple flannel shirt.
It took me a long time to finally get the head feathers right, but that’ll be for another bonus for another update on another day. Speaking of which, see you next Monday for an update huzzah!

Bright and peppy now that she gets to meet new people, I see. Is a grumbly wake-up followed by excitement to see (and electrorecept) new faces Kyra’s standard routine these days?
And speaking of electroreceptors, how to clothes interact with her electrosensory perception?
Also, 1-meter Kyra makes me think you’ll appreciate these aliens: http://avali.wikia.com/wiki/File:1360542439.ryuujinzero_avalistudy.jpg
Depends on who’s decision it is to meet those faces =)
Clothes probably wouldn’t interfere with her receptions, especially since they’re buried in feathers now. We could pile more science on them some other chapter but for now it can be one of those amazing things she can do and always find you.
Those aliens are crazy adorable! I’ll have to make note of that to add to my giant folder of images to help get Kyra just right.
Y’know, I’m probably biased since I love lizardy-dinosaur-esque characters, so it doesn’t occur to me just how terrifying something like Kyra would be if you weren’t used to it.
Especially now that she’s got some size on her now. Plus imagine if a medium sized dog suddenly stood up, how large and scary it would suddenly seem. That’s getting too close to “face biting off” range.
What a great way to start a Monday morning…a hnnnng heart attack. Kyra is just way too cute. Especially with some form of clothing over her claws, my avatar is proof of that too!
You can’t stop the adorable Kyra train! One nice thing about long sleeves over her hands is you can do the big “cute floppy limp claws thing” without doing it for real. Too many layers of cute going on.
Yeah, look at those little folded up arms like a trex teenager in a hoodie!
One of the people I showed the comic to today made the perfect comment, “How is she THIS consistently precious?”
Ah, i was curious what your earlier “older” Kyra concepts would look like. She does look good in purple!
She’s being her adorable Kyra self here, with emphasis on adorable. Good to see!
I’ll probably be posting bonus stuff on Mondays to go with the comic or something. I do have a lot of test images from when I was drawing new Kyra but couldn’t share with anyone!
Kyra’s tiny smile in the last three panels just melts my heart into rainbow pudding. How can anyone ever be scared of something that cute? c:
I guess some people just don’t find giant reptile bird things adorable. Takes all kinds I guess, heh
Aww Kyra’s like a cute puppy begging for a treat in the last panel.
The treat of attention is what she craves!
Uh, purgatory – so cute!
Kyra has Ridley’s “stand up straight” taunt from Smash Ultimate
I bet she would do it all the time to be closer to human height, but she probably can’t run nearly as fast that way. I also bet she wishes SHE could shoot fireballs too.
She looks so extra cool with her clothes! I guess it must be worth wearing since it seems to be a hassle to put them on to begin with, aheh
Everybody seems to love Kyra in human clothes, the plan is working XD Who’s plan? Keep reading I guess!
What interests me the most about this page is that just a little while ago we saw Bill explaining that Kyra can tell when people are trying to pretend that they’re not afraid. In that case she definitely has to know these two are trying to hide their fear – they aren’t even hiding it that well.
I’m hoping that what that means is that over the course of the last ten years Kyra has learned that most people will always fear her at first but that is not a reason to be discouraged. And that if she just keeps trying hard and being nice (and cute) to everyone they’ll get over their fear of her eventually. In other words she knows she just has to power through it.
Afraid but trying to plow through, it seems. Different people with different reactions. Luckily for Kyra is that she’s stubborn and will indeed always try to make friends. Trying hard and yes being cute helps too. Let’s see how well that goes for her … together!
