And so starts off chapter 44 with some quick flashbacks. I expect these to pop up every few chapters because they are interesting and informative. They were also harder to make than I thought they would, heh. Trying to give these pages a unique “flashback” feel took a lot of fiddling and experimenting. The solution ended up being simpler than my earlier attempts but I’m pleased enough with these results. Will probably refine it before the next one!
The pages ALSO took longer than I thought because I spent plenty of time looking up guitar stuff. Even just a tiny bit of authenticity goes a long way in making Kay’s love of the six strings pure. However I play the piano, not the guitar, so I had much to learn. Maybe that’s not a problem with Kay as she sure seems eager to pick up that guitar and … (checks notes) strum it. Yes, I do think I’m getting the hang of this!
New pages next week as we start off this dangerous adventure and see just how grumpy that Kay’s become. Hey wait, I guess it’s been TEN YEARS since I started doing color comics? I did post the first one, chapter 11, on February 1st 2010 so that’s something I suppose? So much Kyra adventures!

Envy is a green monster more dangerous than Kyra, for sure.
Well said!
Now to stop Kyra before she runs in yelling about her eye color.
Reading your footnote. I just noticed that in the flashbacks, everything that is not in the fokus of the memory of the person is gray, while objects of interest and charakters are colored. I did not even realise it on the first page! Oh what I would have missed, like Paul standing there with a camera and talking to Jill.
So this is hinting that Kay is jaelous of Kyra? I do wonder how that would have made her THAT grumpy. Maybe it is something else. Looking forward to the next pages opening more questions than closing answers! :P
Heh, it’s the start of everything so it’s time to start asking more and more questions. But there will be answers too! Some answers in life just take time.
So the guy was okay when he thought it was a green dog walking around in a shirt, but when he realized it was a dinosaur – oh no, that’s crazy! Ha ha!
It’s sad to see Kay’s bright-eyed, super happy child face next to her gloomy, cranky teen face. It’ll be interesting to see her path to this.

Aw… and Kyra was trying to include Kay in the penultimate panel….
