We start off this dangerous adventure with two pages giving us a glimpse into someone’s life before they were so grumpy. No not Paul. He was probably always grumpy.

And so starts off chapter 44 with some quick flashbacks. I expect these to pop up every few chapters because they are interesting and informative. They were also harder to make than I thought they would, heh. Trying to give these pages a unique “flashback” feel took a lot of fiddling and experimenting. The solution ended up being simpler than my earlier attempts but I’m pleased enough with these results. Will probably refine it before the next one!
The pages ALSO took longer than I thought because I spent plenty of time looking up guitar stuff. Even just a tiny bit of authenticity goes a long way in making Kay’s love of the six strings pure. However I play the piano, not the guitar, so I had much to learn. Maybe that’s not a problem with Kay as she sure seems eager to pick up that guitar and … (checks notes) strum it. Yes, I do think I’m getting the hang of this!
New pages next week as we start off this dangerous adventure and see just how grumpy that Kay’s become. Hey wait, I guess it’s been TEN YEARS since I started doing color comics? I did post the first one, chapter 11, on February 1st 2010 so that’s something I suppose? So much Kyra adventures!

Aww, look at the two little cuties back when they were so young and innocent and not angsty and troublesome. Well, a different kind of trouble. And yes, it was a lot of fun drawing baby Kyra again especially after all this improvement time.
