Huh, I thought she would have been so sad to know that she’s the last of her kind.

Well she’s still Kyra :3

But will there’s still a chance that she could have children? She’s 100% task creatures with needs and such and I noticed (someone else did first) that there’s a male marker on one of the screens in the previous page. A chance to bring her species back? That would be a good storyline to do if you still plan on doing this comic after this chapter.

And Angry Eon is best Eon >:3

What happens after this chapter is interesting because I haven’t actually said anything … because I haven’t actually decided anything, heh. I have a lot to talk about and a lot on my mind, just not sure when to bring it up. But THE big things have been happening in the comic, so SOMETHING is bound to happen when all is said and done.

And yes, I’ve been waiting a long time to draw Eon with the screens all bunched up like that for a long time and I’m happy it’s turning out how I hoped!

But Eon on the other hand is definitely a life form of human design, so… y’know… all the bases are covered at least?

Obviously the correct course of action is for Paul to adopt Eon, because (statistically speaking) he currently has the best track record of being a caretaker of non-human life forms, right? ????

It seems odd to hear that Kyra got Superman’ed, without even the planet blowing up or anything! If one egg can survive, why not more? Ol’ Supes wasn’t exactly the last of his kind either, and y’know, that was with the planet going kablooie ????

Huh… Kyra’s species must have extraordinarily durable cellular structures for her to survive being frozen for… eons….

Speaking of, I’m facinated by Eon’s dismal take on her creators. Kyra has a lot of strong points, sure, but she’s not perfect. Granted, it’s hard to tell what’s a natural instinct and what’s just her being childish.

I wouldn’t be surprised if arrogance and a resistance to tools and adaptation led to the downfall of the Kyrasaurs. Going by the animals’ reactions and statements, dinosaurs (Kyrasaurs or otherwise) both ruled and ruined the world in the distant past, so that’s worth considering too.

Of course, I’m theorizing based on what we know. It could all be bunk next page. So many curve balls. Such a ride!

Yes, things can still be damaged while frozen. Also I’m not sure that there’s any place even at the poles that has remained frozen since dinosaur times. Even ignoring continental drift. But we’ve suspended disbelief for less.

Eon may be a bit bias as she was programmed to take care of Kyra. Heck, she needed a “get angry now” program to get “mad” heh. But yes, keep the theories flowing! I’ve narrowed down the scope of Kyra’s history for you and hopefully opened a bunch of new doors to explore down that hallway of possibilities. There might even be more than you think as it was Paul who said Kyra was “frozen” which Eon thought was an “ineloquent” way of putting it.

Eon suggests that Kyra was left in the Arctic on purpose, which I assume was done as an attempt by members of her species to preserve said species beyond whatever cataclysmic event was causing them all to die off. But if that was their intention, there is a huge flaw in their plan: they only left one egg. How exactly was Kyra supposed to keep the species going if there is no one with which she could reproduce?

As I see it, this leaves two possibilities:

1: This had nothing to do with saving or perpetuating the species as a whole, but rather it was just one single parent who only cared about saving their own child. The likeliness of this possibility seems low, however, because it’s such a high risk option for a parent to take if they actually deeply care about the survival of their unborn child.

2: There actually is (or was) multiple kyrasaur eggs that were frozen, or intended to be frozen. Kyra’s egg most likely would have gotten separated from the group either during the process of placing the eggs in the tundra, or the eggs were discovered by another group of humans much earlier and Kyra’s egg was lost whilst they were ransacking the site. Or maybe Kyra’s egg was the only one to survive the cryogenic preservation intact.

I’m just happy that answering the question of where Kyra came from has just made new questions for us to think about. Now everybody can focus on one area of her past and come up with crazy theories about that!

Honestly right now I’m more concerned about when Eon said “It’s not even MY planet!”.

What? Is she not from Earth?! Is that possible?

(Honestly she’s probably just implying that humans are the ones “in charge” of the planet, making the planet theirs and not hers. But who knows, there was a freakin’ centaur at one point in the comic; I’m not ruling out the possibility of alien computers).

That’s PROBABLY what she’s implying … but indeed, sometimes you never know! If it’s not 100% it’s more fun if I leave it wide open, heh.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the centaur creatures from the end of the bar section story! I even thought up a follow up joke for it too. I just haven’t gotten around to using it yet. Hmmm … to save it for a different story for a different day or a throwaway gag now. Decisions decisions …

Ok, lets make this official.

As initiated by Cyberguy64 and Jeremy and motioned by me, Kyra’s species shall henceforth and forever be known as

Kyrasaur :3

“Affect”, not “effect”.

What? She said affect.

And no, he didn’t change the comic because I recall being impressed that he used the right word.

I was talking about Eon’s dialogue:
“You selfishly ignore any problems that don’t immediately EFFECT you”

ALRIGHT, if you can all find this comment at the very bottom of the wonderfully long list –

No, I did not just take Monday’s comic and toss it up last Thursday. I actually made TWO comics in one day. There’ll still be the regular two comics this week, just a little later than normal. Took a break over the weekend with plans to do most of the work Sunday but got too tired. Sorry to leave you hanging … but I didn’t want to leave you SUPER hanging last Thursday on such important stuff that I couldn’t fit into one comic!
