Here’s today’s fun comic fact:  I spent the last three years designing adult Ann trying to get all the little details right.  Only a few months ago I finally got her looking “right” at last.  Then I threw a giant dinosaur jacket over her but that’s beside the point.  But Kay?  I somehow got her design, the attitude, outfit, and colors – perfect on the first try.  Sometimes that’s just how it goes!

Last week was quite hectic.  Some of it was good like people visiting, while some was bad like issues at work.  While I got the pages done I haven’t gotten very far on the Halloween picture I thought of, and it’s only a few days away!  Also the rest of my week until next Monday are pretty packed so I’ll need to work hard to get those two pages in. I should also think of something nice for comic number 1000. Which I guess segues into the next thing!

Patreon has been in my mind again.  While it is an obvious thing to do I keep dragging my feet.  Coming up with rewards and tiers for the most generous donators is tough because, as I mentioned, I spend all my time making my two webcomics.  I want to use it for making more sketches to post, but after that I’m in a bit of a pickles.  Anyway, that’s one of my many bad excuses XD

You CAN always launch a Patreon without reward tiers. And if you really wanted to give people a reason to pledge tons of comics have a buffer and release it on Patreon early – so the public site has a one week delay but has consistency, whereas Patreons get comics as they are finished erratically.

It’s funny because the one I donate the most to doesn’t have tiers, heh. I did like the idea of “posting pages on Patreon as soon as they’re done instead of all at once on Monday.” However the way I work lately is working on the two pages I’m planning on posting at the same time. Still an interesting option to run around in my head.

Can’t blame the print guy for being so grumpy while dealing with such a bunch of morons. I can almost picture a color called bladderberry – it’s shades of pink of course.
Everyone loves Weird Al!

Incidentally, the last time we saw Beatrice and Ty (before the time jump) they were also singing Weird Al then. It appears to have become a cornerstone of their relationship. (I’m assuming that is their car, due to it being the only one we haven’t seen yet).

Ann joining in on the Kyra dancing to music whenever. I am reminded of the time she was dancing with bea. Ah good times.

And for how intimidating that man is looking, he is rather clever and friendly with his approach to Ann. I can apreciate that he is not shown as a stereotypical brute.

Also, singing in the car is great!

I’m going to bet out of all the characters only Ann and Kyra will be dancing in public like the oddballs they seem to be. Originally that guy was going to be a big yelling brute in the first rough draft but I made it into something better during the rewriting part. It can be fun to start with the bare stereotype them making it into something unique.
